The Transcend RDF9 is a basic USB 3.1/3.0 memory card reader with slots for CF, SD and microSD cards. These are the memory cards I use on a daily basis – and I think that’s probably true for most photographers.
The performance is solid and it is especially noticeable with the UHS-II SD cards when you attach the reader to a computer equipped with USB 3.0 ports. You can get a flavor of how fast files transfer from the card to the computer in the video below.
It delivers up to 260MB/s read speeds and 190MB/s write speeds. It works with PC, Mac and Linux operating systems. It pairs nicely with Transcend’s UHS-II SD and UDMA 7 CF cards. There isn’t a whole lot more to say about this card reader. It is fast, reliable and affordable. At $16.95, it offers everything that most photographers need at about the fastest speeds possible today.
